Originally trained in graphic design at Aberdeen College, I run a small business in Aberdeenshire creating artwork from my own drawings and designs - cutting them from paper by hand with a scalpel. All the materials I use are acid-free and archival quality, meaning they won't disintegrate or discolour over time (including mounting glues and framing tape).
People, places, plants, stories, and folklore are my main interests and influences, although the vast majority of my work starts with wee doodles that I develop and adapt for the art of papercutting.
I particularly enjoy the challenge of creating an illustration that will hold together as one piece of paper, once the cutting is complete.
Most of my pieces are customisable, particularly background colour choices, so do please get in touch if you'd like a colour you don't see in a listing. I also welcome commissions.
