Hand carved from Kempas, these strikingly patterned pendants present a natural looking piece of jewellery. They would make a fantastic gift for nature lovers, those with a special connection to trees or just to add a little something unusual to your jewellery collection.

The pendant ships in a matt black presentation box with a small leaflet explaining a little of the history, uses and folklore surrounding the wood.
Kempas (Koompassia malaccensis) is tree from the fresh water swamps of Malaysia and Indonesia, where it grows up to a giant 64m tall on hillsides and ridges, Kempas sees use in heavy construction, flooring, plywood, pallets and railway sleepers within its native range.
It is not a common wood elsewhere, being mainly imported to Europe for use in flooring.
However, the shimmer that is produced by turning highly polished jewellery made from Kempas in the light, together with its warm amber tones give it distinction in this application.
No machines were used in the manufacture of the pendant and it is finished with resin to give a tough, durable, water resistant coating with a high gloss.
Due to the natural variability of wood and because each pendant is hand made, every item The Conker tree produces is completely unique.
